At the Direct Marketing Association’s List Day event in New York on Aug. 2, Specialists Marketing Services president Lon Mandel said his companies would acquire two firms over the next 45 days. The first one was officially announced Wednesday.
The Weehawken, NJ-based list firm said it has acquired 21st Century Marketing of Farmingdale, NY. David O Schwartz, who was president/ CEO of 21st Century marketing, will join Specialists as its executive director, and 21st Century executive vice president Janine Vosseler will become a vice president.
In a statement, Schwartz said all of 21st Century’s account service teams and senior management will remain with the merged organization. The business-to-business divisions of both companies will be moved to the Farmingdale office, under the direction of executive vice president Pete Candito.
Both organizations offer traditional list management, brokerage and compilation services, as well as alternative media, database marketing, analytics, and interactive/digital/e-services. 21st Century also has a multicultural division.
