Study: Online Ad Spending Down 10%

New York–Online ad spending dropped 10% for the first half of 2001, compared to first-half revenue in 2001, according to a report from CMRi, the online division of research firm CMR. The study found that Internet ad spending for the first half of 2001 totaled $1.5 billion. Portal/search engine Yahoo! took in $197.3 million of those ad dollars, or roughly 13%–up from $194.0 million during the same period in 2000.
