They’re back. The Union of Needletrades, Industrial and Textile Employees (UNITE) has produced another mock catalog. This time, UNITE is going after Angelica Corp.’s Life Uniforms business.
The mock catalog, entitled “Dirty Laundry,” features nonunion Angelica laundry workers wearing Life Uniform scrubs. UNITE says it’s distributing the catalog to customers and potential customers in the healthcare industries through direct mail and at tradeshows.
The pamphlet documents what UNITE claims are “sweatshop conditions under which Life Uniform products are made” as well as stories from Angelica laundry workers in the United States. The union had created a similar catalog against New York-based Brylane in during the holiday 2002 season.
