Los Angeles-based Viking Office Products has launched a catalog operation in Portugal, targeting small and midsize businesses. Portugal is the 14th country in which Viking operates.
Viking’s Spain headquarters will oversee the Portugal business. The company, a division of cataloger/retailer Office Depot, will hire Portuguese-speaking customer service reps to work out of the company’s call center in northwestern Spain. Viking also plans to launch a Website to serve the Portuguese market by the middle of 2003.
