Third-party logistics (3PL) provider AMS has acquired EchoData Group, a provider of omnichannel fulfillment services to B2C and B2B customers in consumer products, educational products, marketing materials and subscription box selling.
The acquisition gives AMS greater ability to serve customers with same-day delivery in major population on both coasts, out of EchoData’s facilities in New Holland, PA and New Castle, DE, as well as AMS’s four fulfillment centers in Valencia, CA outside Los Angeles. The company said it now provides two-day delivery to approximately 90% of the U.S. population.
“We are thrilled to welcome the entire EchoData team, their extraordinary skill sets and complementary client base to our platform,” said Jay Catlin, CEO of AMS in a release. “Over the past 18 months, we’ve enjoyed the opportunity to work with the Echo team in a 4PL partnership and believe our organizations share similar cultures as well as a relentless focus on delivering best-in-class customer service.”
“As the ecommerce channel continues to grow, proximity to end consumers, while maintaining span of control and a zero-defect mentality, becomes increasingly important,” said Christina Pai, a partner at Fort Point, which acquired AMS in 2019 for an undisclosed sum.
AMS, listed in Multichannel Merchant’s Top 3PLs for 2020, has a concentration of clients in beauty and cosmetics, apparel and accessories and footwear, serving mostly B2C companies.
