This year’s Order Management Software Review includes grades and ranks for each major software function from the vendors’ own perspective, giving you a chance to see where they believe their strengths lie. Of course, like proud parents, they all believe they are outstanding market leaders. But it’s your own requirements that will ultimately determine what is the “best” system. A plethora of functions can be overkill for many users; even the right function can require irrelevant effort or data, or fail to fill a critical need.
So use this roundup as a guide to develop a shortlist of likely systems, then give those vendors a checklist of detailed requirements to get specific input from them on how those needs can be met. The vendor who can best dance to your tune will be the one you will most likely take home from the party.
The information in this review was supplied by Ernie Schell, president of Marketing Systems Analysis Inc., Southampton, PA. He can be reached at (215) 396-0660 or [email protected].
