N Brown Group, a Manchester, U.K.-based direct home shopping company, announced Nov. 20 it entered into a contract to sell its Zendor.com fulfillment subsidiary to GSI Commerce.
The transaction—worth about $7.9 million in cash—is expected to close within 10 to 14 days. Following the close, Zendor will be known as Zendor GSI Commerce and will maintain its offices in Manchester and report to GSI’s international headquarters in Barcelona.
N Brown Group says selling Zendor.com will enable it to concentrate on its core business of catalog/Internet marketing. The company’s titles, which include J D Williams, 50 Plus, and Simply Be, target mature consumers. GSI Commerce is a King of Prussia, PA-based e-commerce systems provider.
