NORTHBROOK, Ill.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Merchant Analytic Solutions, LLC, (“MAS”) a unit of Hilco Trading, LLC, announced it has entered into a strategic alliance with IDM Software (“IDM”) to provide retail executives, worldwide, with a next-generation business intelligence solution designed to drive improvements in inventory performance, shrink, margin leakage, customer satisfaction, vendor management, risk counter measures, SKU rationalization, supply chain optimization, and predictive modeling.
The new solution combines the MAS “pm2 – predictive modeling and profit management strategy” with the IDM “Loss Manager Train of Thought” software application in one user-friendly, multi-level, unified program.
According to MAS Chief Operating Officer and former Vice President of CVS/Caremark, Ernie Deyle, “Pressures on costs and retail price inflation, along with increased risk variables within an organization that can affect shareholder value, make it imperative CFOs explore all untapped opportunities within their data to drive net profit.”
Mr. Deyle added, “Successful software tools today must have not only the “potential” to do great things with data, they must be underpinned by a proven strategy to both effectively identify opportunity and leverage it through the closure of gaps in underlying processes, labor and technology. The program, jointly developed by MAS and IDM, provides the optimal solution to accurately predict patterns, monitor and anticipate user needs, isolate and quantify events at the most granular level, provide a road map to mitigate that risk, and ensure the action taken is effective and sustainable.”
MAS is a global leader in retail profit optimizing business intelligence tactics. The MAS pm2 profit turn-around program is designed around proprietary algorithms and data assessment techniques to identify sales reducing activity (“SRA”) – the root causes of profit loss – within a retail enterprise. MAS pm2 provides retailers with the capabilities to execute customized improvement strategies and countermeasures to mitigate losses, and effectively measure and predict future performance.
IDM “Train of Thought Analysis” software enables a retailer to analyze data in a new way that supports their natural investigative process. Results that used to take days and weeks to produce can now be achieved in minutes and hours; all without the need to call upon the assistance of valuable and scarce internal IT time or costly vendor resources. Sean Manion, IDM Vice President of Sales and Operations, North America stated, “We’re very excited to be working with MAS. Our objective is to add value across the retailer’s enterprise and make their existing teams more productive. The alliance between our companies will bring considerable returns to our clients.”
MAS Chief Executive Officer and former President of K-Mart Operations, Donald W. Keeble, said, “In partnering with IDM Software, MAS is able to further round out its core analytical offerings and provide a fully actionable, profit improvement program, designed by retail executives who have a history of providing direct shareholder value and improving overall financial strength. In IDM Software we found a partner who understands retail and has a proven solution that overcomes the inherent constraints of traditional EBR tools.”
