Merrimack, NH—PC Connection, a $1.45 billion computer cataloger, said on May 30 that it has agreed to buy Cyberian Outpost, a Kent, CT-based online electronics and computers “superstore.” The deal, expected to close this fall, will be structured as a stock-for-stock, tax-free merger.
PC Connection plans to retain Cyberian Outpost president/CEO Darryl Peck after the acquisition in a capacity yet to be determined. As for the acquisition, “having a multibrand, multichannel strategy is key to our ongoing growth,” PC Connection executive vice president Robert Wilkins said in a statement. “The acquisition further strengthens the foundation PC Connection has successfully built over the past two decades.”
