UPS has resolved technical issues stemming from a system glitch on Wednesday that caused problems with some shipping applications that customers use to input and track systems.
UPS restored its systems, including the ability to track and ship packages. The UPS website noted that international shipments and deliveries were impacted and possibly experienced delays overnight.
Norman Black, director of global media services for UPS, said the technical issues began Wednesday morning and the root cause was identified and addressed. He did not have specific information regarding the root cause of the glitch.
“Emphasis was directed to restoring systems to full functionality, and that process is complete,” Black said. “It was an internal UPS network problem — there was no security breach.”
