Joining the fast-growing MarTech startup are John McCrea as CMO and Stefan Mayo as Head of U.S. Sales and Business Development

Palo Alto, CA, Jan. 23, 2019, the AI-driven engagement platform, today announced two key executive hires, the appointment of John McCrea as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Stefan Mayo as Head of U.S. Sales and Business Development. In his role, McCrea will lead the company’s marketing team globally. Mayo will build out and lead the sales and business development teams in the U.S. Together, these efforts should accelerate the company’s already fast growth in the Conversational Marketing software space.

John McCrea has been an Internet entrepreneur and digital marketing leader for over 20 years. Most recently, he was CEO of Ethereal, a virtual reality software startup building an immersive music visualization platform. Prior to that, McCrea served as CMO for MediaSpike, developer of an in-game virtual product placement platform. Prior to that, he was VP of Marketing for Plaxo, an early mover in the Social Web, which was acquired by Comcast. While at Comcast, he launched and ran Tunerfish, a pioneering Social TV business.

McCrea holds a B.S. from M.I.T. and an MBA from Stanford GSB.

Stefan Mayo brings to over 15 years of experience as a sales leader in the digital marketing and ad tech industry. Prior to his new role, Mayo worked as an Executive Director of National Sales at Valassis Digital, an advertising and marketing intelligence company that predicts consumer behavior, where he focused on revenue growth, sales productivity and profitability across a suite of advertising technology products and solutions. Prior to that, his sales leadership positions include Executive Director of National Sales at Valassis Digital, Director of Enterprise Sales at SocialChorus, VP Sales at Martini Media and Director of Business Development at Yahoo! Mr. Mayo is passionate about building high performing teams, scaling organizational operations and helping sales people reach their full potential.
