Gap Inc. Deploys Oracle Retail Cloud Services to Drive Retail Operations

Today, Oracle announced that Gap Inc. has deployed Oracle Retail Merchandising Foundation Cloud Service, Oracle Retail Merchandising Insights Cloud Service, Oracle Retail Integration Cloud Service and Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management running on the Oracle Cloud to drive end-to-end operational efficiencies and empower the business teams of the INTERMIX brand.

As a longstanding customer of Oracle, Gap Inc. sought to build on its experience and maintain a consistent merchandising platform to simplify operations, allowing INTERMIX to take advantage of the dynamic, state-of-the-art functionality and technology offered in the Oracle Retail Cloud Service. Oracle Retail Merchandising Foundation Cloud Service with Oracle Retail Integration Cloud Service empowers merchants to synchronize end-to-end merchandising operations from buying to inventory valuation—driving to a single version of the truth. Daily tasks such as purchase order approval and sales auditing are efficient and effective with exception-based dashboard notifications and alerts.

Through its modern analytics interface and exception-based reporting, Oracle Retail Merchandising Insights Cloud Service leverages the value of the merchandising data and identifies actionable opportunities across product, price, promotion and placement.

“This investment marks the first step on a journey to adopting cloud technology across our global operations. We chose Oracle Retail Cloud Services to synchronize our global initiatives and deliver state-of-the-art functionality to INTERMIX,” said Paul Chapman, Chief Information Officer, Gap Inc. “The INTERMIX team is inspired by the potential of the solutions. They look forward to new capabilities and insights delivered by the Oracle Retail solutions.”

“Over the last six months, my team worked closely with the Oracle Retail Development, Solution Management and Consulting teams to deploy the solution from strategic planning to go-live,” said Chapman. “Throughout the whole process the teams functioned in tight partnership and tackled any challenges that arose. The excellent work for INTERMIX has given us the confidence to continue our journey to the cloud with Oracle.”

INTERMIX curates the most sought-after styles from a compelling and edited mix of both established and emerging designers. INTERMIX delivers a highly-personalized shopping experience across its 40 stores in North America, and each boutique’s assortment of merchandise is hand-selected to reflect the nuances of its neighborhood.
