Whereoware Redesigns Two New Ecommerce Websites for Yamaha WaterCraft Group, Furthering Yamaha’s Digital Transformation

Yamaha WaterCraft Group Continues Digital Transformation with Two New Websites and Complimentary Mobile Applications

Chantilly, VA, Oct. 21, 2020 — Coinciding with its 2021 product launch, Yamaha WaterCraft Group launched redesigned websites for YamahaBoats.com and YamahaWaveRunners.com and two integrated mobile applications, both built by Whereoware, a full-service agency driving smart growth for clients through digital marketing strategy and activation. The immersive online experiences guide customers through a personalized buying journey, furthering Yamaha’s digital transformation ambition of selling a lifestyle, not just a product.

The new websites, built on the powerful Episerver Digital Experience Platform, feature bold design and an elevated user experience (UX). Streaming video, animations, and high-quality photography show off every angle of the boats and WaveRunners®, helping users visualize themselves out on the water. Streamlined content makes it easy to compare different models within a series and download specs, while selecting the “Share” feature lets users email product pages to friends and family, without leaving the website.

“By partnering with Whereoware, we deliver an engaging online experience that closely connects our customers to Boats and WaveRunners that elevate their on the water lifestyle,” said Andrew Cullen, Senior Manager, Digital Marketing and Communications for Yamaha WaterCraft Group. “With the 2021 WaterCraft launch, the new websites and apps celebrate the phenomenal interest and demand in our products and guide customers down the path to purchase, while streamlining the sale for our dealership partners.”

The websites mimic an ecommerce experience and are highly interactive. Users can build and price products, choosing first the boat or WaveRunner model, exterior color, and various accessories (from lifestyle/tech to storage or watersports). An updated pricing tool and finance calculator dynamically change the product price to reflect users’ choices, while personalized special offers and incentives create excitement and urgency.

The Build and Price tool supports Yamaha’s goal of seamlessly integrating digital and offline experiences and driving high quality foot traffic to local Yamaha dealerships. Personalized Build and Price quotes are sent directly to the nearest Yamaha dealer, providing the model, features, and accessories the prospect is seeking, enabling the dealer to proceed with the in-person or remote purchase exactly where the digital experience left off.

The dealer locator uses geographical data to return the dealer location closest to the user and autofills webforms with dealer information, saving users a step and streamlining their experience. Similarly, choosing to Test Drive a product uses geographical data to drive users to the dealer closest to them, while automatically emailing the dealer the users’ information for follow up.

“We built Yamaha’s websites and mobile applications to elevate users’ digital experience, deliver lead generation tools to Yamaha’s dealers, and translate the Yamaha lifestyle online,” said John Schneider, Whereoware’s Chief Technology Officer. “They’re fully integrated to leverage customer data, personalization, and interactivity, to deliver an amazing and memorable consumer experience on a state-of-the-art delivery platform.”
