Gourmet food gifting company Harry & David plans to open about 20 pop-up stores nationwide this holiday season, up from 16 last year, in addition to its 46 year-round retail locations.
“We’ve opened Harry & David holiday pop-up stores for a number of years in order to provide customers with even more convenient ways to shop with us during the biggest gift-giving time of the year,” Steve Lightman, President of Harry & David.
The pop-up stores will include the same popular gift basket items as Harry & David’s permanent locations, including candies, chocolates, pears, popcorn and baked goods.
“Our holiday pop-up initiatives have allowed us to expand in markets near Chicago and Los Angeles, as well as in towns in the Northeast,” said Lightman. “This year, Harry & David focused on opening stores in well-populated markets on both coasts as well as the Midwest.”
Lightman said the holiday pop-ups allow the company to increase its footprint across the U.S., putting it closer to a wider swath of holiday shoppers in new markets. The company is using a social media campaign to build awareness of the new stores.
