Nordstrom announced its new concept store, Nordstrom Local which aims to focus on experience and not inventory. The launch of Nordstrom Local will begin in West Hollywood, California in October.
Nordstrom Local will be 3,000 sq. ft., which is much smaller than its regular 140,000 square foot store locations. The new concept store will be service focused and customers who want to shop will have access to personal stylists, who can transfer merchandise in for customers.
There will also be a buy online, pick-up in-store option available the same day. Additional services include on-site tailoring, Trunk Club services, manicure appointments, curbside pickup and more.
Customers will have the opportunity to make returns at Nordstrom Local from Nordstrom stores, the website and Trunk Club.
“As the retail landscape continues to transform at an unprecedented pace, the one thing we know that remains constant is that customers continue to value great service, speed and convenience,” said Shea Jensen, Nordstrom Senior Vice President of Customer Experience in a press release. “We know there are more and more demands on a customer’s time and we wanted to offer our best services in a convenient location to meet their shopping needs. Finding new ways to engage with customers on their terms is more important to use now than ever.”
Nordstrom will also have a styling and eight dressing rooms surrounding a central meeting space where customers can sit, enjoy a glass of wine or beer and chat with personal stylists.
