Direct marketing sales for Dallas-based luxury goods merchant Neiman Marcus Group, which mails the Neiman Marcus and Horchow apparel and home decor catalogs, increased 9%, to nearly $165 million for the fourth quarter ended July 28. In addition to the flagship retail chain, the company owns New York’s high-end Bergdorf Goodman store.
For the fourth quarter, total company revenue increased 9.4%, to $981.7 million, up from $897.1 million in the fourth quarter last year. Same-store sales jumped 7%. Net loss for the quarter was $15.8 million, down from a net loss of $41.9 million last year. Internet sales rose 25%.
For fiscal year 2007, direct marketing sales rose 9%, to $715.5 million from $655.3 million. Total sales for the year also increased 9%, to $4.39 billion. Same-store sales rose 6.7% and net income nearly doubled to $111.9 million, up from $56.6 million in fiscal 2006.
