The Canadian-based lululemon athletica, a yoga-inspired athletic apparel company, announced it will be opening a distribution center in Columbus, Ohio, according to a press release.
The Columbus based economic development organization, Columbus2020, issued the release and said that this would be the second distribution facility used by the apparel company within the U.S.
The opening of the distribution center will bring the creation of 170 new full-time positions, according to the release. It will be housed in a 300,000 square-foot facility and is slated to open in 2014.
According to the press release, this region of Ohio is a strong base for retail-specific distribution centers including centers for Wal-Mart Stores Inc., and Target Brands Inc. Other major retail brands including Limited Brands Inc., Abercrombie & Fitch Co., and DSW Inc.
