In an effort to save time for Shop Your Way members this holiday season, Sears announced it is launching a new service called “Reserve It,” part of its push to offer shoppers more multichannel options that connect online and in-store shopping experiences.
This free service helps members go online, identify apparel and footwear items that are in stock at a local Sears store and place them on hold to try on in store, according to a press release.
This new launch is the latest shopper convenience offering Sears has introduced since the last holiday season, including the addition of curbside returns and exchanges in September.
“Reserve It combines the digital world of ecommerce with in-store shopping – including the ability to touch, feel and try on clothes and footwear – to streamline and personalize the experience for our members like never before,” said Leena Munjal, vice president of Sears Holdings in the press release.
When members log into their Shop Your Way account on Sears.com and select their local store, apparel and footwear product searches will now show items that are in stock at that specific store. They can click on a product, style and size they want, and select “Reserve in Store.”
An email or text will let them know when the products are ready to try on. At the store, their item will be personally labeled and ready to try on at the Reserve It rack in the apparel section.
In addition to Reserve It and curbside returns/exchanges, customers have two other new ways to shop using Sears’ integrated retail options:
- Expanded free store pickup: allows members to pick up sears.com or Kmart.com orders at any of each others stores.
- Shop Your Way Member Assist: Leverages online and mobile to give members quick and convenient access local store associates, offering them a more personalized service experience.
