In a move to consolidate its omnichannel offerings, Sears and Kmart will let customers pick up online orders at either store, regardless of which brand’s website is used, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Parent company Sears Holdings Corp. announced the new online order pickup feature Tuesday. It will be available at more than 2,000 U.S. stores, and allow shoppers to pick up a sears.com order at a Kmart location, and vice versa. The company has offered free in-store pickup of online orders since 2002.
“Leveraging the breadth of both Sears and Kmart’s online and in-store networks means more convenience for members and opens an even wider brand-name product selection available to fans of both stores,” said Imran Jooma, executive vice president of Sears Holdings.
