Retailers are struggling to create the kind of seamless omnichannel experience consumers crave. The fundamental challenge: They can’t predict and respond to changes in demand across channels. But technology now offers a cutting-edge solution: Blockchain. Here are some best practices shared at Ecommerce Operations Summit 2019.
In order for blockchain to succeed on a global scale in the transportation of goods, an open source standard will be required, according to a FedEx executive who heads up a blockchain alliance working toward that goal. The first standard of the Blockchain in Transport Alliance, on shipment location tracking, was published in March.
Omnichain Solutions co-founder and CEO Pratik Soni, and organic frozen food brand Ruby Rockets president and CEO, Stephen Davis will co-present a session, “Leveraging Blockchain for Omnichannel Success” at Ecommerce Operations Summit, held April 9-11, 2019 at the Great Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, OH.
With interest growing in the use of blockchain in the supply chain, FedEx has been very active in moving the technology forward. Dale Chrystie, FedEx Freight’s Vice President of Strategic Planning and Support, spoke with Multichannel Merchant about the company’s involvement with blockchain initiatives.
