Retail and Ecommerce Distribution Center Roundup, 2/7/18

Here is MCM’s periodic listing of recent distribution center and fulfillment center activity in the domestic market:

Target opted not to renew its contract with Radial for a 914,000-square-foot distribution center in Memphis that opened in 2015, idling 500 Radial employees.

A former Corning plant in Greenville, OH, is being turned into a 300,000-square-foot distribution center.

Developers have acquired the former home of Whitestone Multiplex Cinemas in the Bronx, NY and are developing it into a multistory, 840,000-square-foot distribution center off the Cross Bronx Expressway.

Walmart is making room for its new corporate headquarters by relocating DC operations in Bentonville and Fort Smith, AR into a 1.03 million-square-foot warehouse space now under construction elsewhere in Bentonville.

Lord & Taylor plans to lay off 202 workers from its DC in Wilkes-Barre Township, PA. Parent Hudson’s Bay will transfer its ecommerce operations and some of the workers to a facility in Pottsville, PA; the Wilkes-Barre facility will continue to service retail operations.
