High-end apparel retailer Ralph Lauren reported “better than expected” first quarter 2014 results this week, according to a press release. Net income was $181 million for the first quarter compared to $193 million for first quarter fiscal 2013.
The Wet Seal announced ecommerce sales were flat for the second quarter, according to a release. The retailer reported $120.5 million in net sales, an increase of 6.0% from last year.

Target announced this week it will be acquiring independent skin care ecommerce site DermStore Beauty Group. The acquisition will position Target to expand its share of evolving online beauty market and will further differentiate the company’s offerings, according to a press release from Target.
