CNN Money reported last week that Amazon will increase the number of robot workers in its fulfillment centers from 1,000 to 10,000.
It was only a matter of time. As Multichannel Merchant reported back in March 2012, Amazon acquired Kiva Systems for $775 million in cash — a deal which meant Kiva’s robotic technology playing a larger role in the company’s massive distribution/fulfillment network.
