Digital fraudsters are nothing if not opportunistic, and the current pandemic is an excellent example. Report after report from consultants and researchers tells of increases in all kinds of scams and tricks designed to separate consumers from their personal information, tuned to the times for maximum effect. One particular type of attack that’s on the rise is so-called “content fraud” involving fake user generated content as the bait and a malicious link as the hook, which can quickly multiply when shared.
