Pinterest is showing it can deliver better reach in terms of driving traffic for Moosejaw Mountaineering, according to the company’s CEO, Eoin Comerford, adding the social site “is where people are thinking about product.”
During IRCE 2015, Pinterest announced it would implement a buy button this year.
Another social media platform that has done well for Moosejaw is Instagram, Comerford said. It has given the company better organic reach than Facebook.
According to the MCM Outlook 2015 survey, 42.9% of retailers maintain an active presence on Pinterest and 28.6% are actively involved with Instagram. Facebook remains as the top social media platform of choice for retailers (76.2%).
The survey revealed that as a channel, 84% of retailers said they use social media. On a scale of 1 to 10, an average of 5.76% of retailers use social media as an ecommerce strategy.
