The Apple Pay system could launch for retailers as early as Saturday, various sources are reporting. CNN Money is reporting that the rumor of the launch came through a leaked memo from Walgreens, which is among the group of retailers supporting Apple Pay.
For customers using Apple Pay wanting to pay for something in an app, can just tap “Pay with Apple Pay” by putting their finger on the fingerprint reader. The charge will go straight to the credit or debit card.
Apple Pay will let iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus owners spend money in its participating stores by using their fingerprint scanner and holding the device up to the register.
Mashable reported that employees at Apple retail stores are required to attend a one-hour Apple training session in the coming days.
It is also being reported that Apple will hold a media event on Thursday, and it’s possible that the company will officially launch the service or give more details about its launch date.
